The FOX 36 SL is the lightest 36 FOX has ever built, delivering true trail-bike performance without the weight penalty. Designed for 120mm to 140mm of travel, this sub-1800g fork brings the stiffness and confidence of the 36 chassis to modern trail bikes that demand both climbing efficiency and aggressive descending capability. At just 1755g (29” 140mm GRIP X), the 36 SL strikes the perfect balance between lightweight responsiveness and hard-charging control.

Replacing the 34 as FOX’s premium short-travel trail fork, the 36 SL delivers 20% more torsional stiffness while adding only about 100 grams. A generatively designed crown and arch increase strength while minimizing weight, and additional bushing overlap reduces friction for smoother suspension action. The redesigned Glidecore FLOAT air spring improves compliance under heavy loads by allowing the piston to move freely even when the fork experiences bending forces from rough terrain, resulting in better traction and a more consistent feel through the travel.

Inside, the GRIP X damper provides outstanding trail performance with a balance of descending capability and pedaling efficiency. Riders get intuitive adjustments and an easy-access firm mode for climbs, while inboard bypass channels reduce pressure buildup and friction for improved small-bump sensitivity.
